Funding Main Street Child Development Center funding comes from tuition, foundations, corporations, governments and from individuals like you.
As with many non-profits, income such as tuition and government funds is not enough to keep the program running. Your donations are critical to keep the children in school, and the school open.
All Main Street parents pay tuition; however lower income parents pay tuition on a sliding scale based on income so that their child can attend. Parents must be working or in school full time. The subsidy for County families comes from the Fairfax County Childcare Assistance and Referral Program. Families living in the City of Fairfax receive subsidy from the city. The Main Street Child Development Center also is supported by limited state funding through the Virginia Preschool Initiative Program for rising kindergarten children of need. Subsidy is paid directly to the center. The full tuition rate is $191.00 per child per week.
