How You Can Help

Main Street Child Development Center is a private, non-profit 501(c)3 tax exempt organization, and like other non-profits, we operate on a limited budget. Our funding is provided by subsidized tuition and individual and group donations. We also receive funding through designated contributions to the United Way (#8262) and Combined Federal Campaign (#31872). It is only through donations like these that we are able to provide hearing, speech, mental health assistance, ESL training, vision screenings, and other comprehensive services for our children, not to mention keep our doors open. If you would like to help us continue our good work, we hope you will consider one of the following options:

Financial Donations

Financial donations may be made directly to MSCDC, 4401 Sideburn Road, Fairfax, VA 22030.

We also accept online contributions through PayPal and Network for Good.

Donate

Donate Your Goods or Services

There are many ways that you can help MSCDC and the children and families that we serve every day. We welcome donations of children's clothing (sizes 3T to 10), backpacks, toys, books, puzzles, educational CDs or DVDs for our classrooms at any time. We also have opportunities to "Adopt a Family" at the holidays, and accept gift cards (gas, grocery store, superstore, etc.) and cash contributions to our scholarship fund throughout the year to help some of our families who are struggling in these difficult economic times.

Donate Your Time

No matter how many, or how few, hours you have to spare, your gift of time can make a real difference to us at MSCDC. Whether you choose to read to, or take on an art or music project with the children in one of our preschool classrooms; provide tutoring or homework help during one of our afterschool programs; babysit in the evening while our parents brush up on their English or computer skills; join your co-workers to help "spruce up" one of our classrooms or our garden; or become active with our Board or one of our committees, we would love to have you share some time – and fun – with us at Main Street! Please visit the Volunteers page to learn more about volunteer opportunities.
