The FOCUS Day Care Center was opened to the community in February of 1973 as the Vienna Day Care Center. In July of 1973, the Fairfax County Department of Social Services invited FOCUS, Inc. (Fairfax Organization of Christians and Jews United in Service) to assume the responsibility for the running of the center. The Focus Day Care Committee was replaced by the Main Street Board of Directors that serves as a governing board for the early learning center. In April 1989, Main Street CDC became incorporated as a 501c3 non-profit. The Board is made up of volunteers who give generously of their time and talent to oversee the operation of the Main Street Child Development Center.
