Reading is Fundamental Program (continued)

How does RIF serve our Community?
  • Sponsors book distributions with fun motivational activities.
  • Provides books to children who may not otherwise own books.
  • Supplies at least three books a year to a child's personal library.
  • Promotes reading within the family.
  • Enables children to read books of their own choice.
  • Encourages children to read and share books with family and friends.
RIF at Main Street Child Development Center

The Reading is Fundamental (RIF) program meets four times a years and distributes free books to each child. We are in need of volunteers to read to children at these times or during the regular preschool day. If you would like to volunteer your help in any of our literacy programs please contact Elizabeth Egan at 703-273-1192.
