Miss Karen, Teacher's Aide

Miss Karen is an Associate Teacher in the Butterfly classroom. She has a degree from Oberlin College and a Master's degree in Social Work from Hunter College. She likes to engage herself with political advocacy for social justice and in her spare time she enjoys studying family genealogy. She is married and has two stepdaughters, a real daughter, one daughter by affection and one son. She also has a dog. She believes that working with children is an opportunity to touch the future by helping children learn to respect themselves and one another. She has spent over 22 years working with young children.

"Children do not have to be like one another in order to work together for a future that they will all share."
